Brenda Middle, President, 2012

Brenda Middle has worked in the Training and Development and related industries for over 20 years and is currently on the Sales Competency and Training team at Deluxe Corporation, responsible for both the design and development of content as well as training delivery. She is pursuing her CPLP certification. Formerly the VP of Communication for the Pikes Peak Chapter, this is her first year as Chapter President.  In her spare time, you’ll find her outside enjoying the Rocky Mountain region: hiking, jogging or snow skiing – anything outside except yard work. Cindy Knapp, Past President

A native of Colorado Springs, Cindy has been active in the Pikes Peak Chapter of ASTD for over 17 years and has served on the Board in the roles of VP of Membership, President Elect, and President. With more than 20 years in the Training and Development field, Cindy has trained and coached people ranging in age from early teens to post-retirement ages. Her experience includes work with non-profit organizations, government contract organizations, corporate training, and sales and business training and coaching. Cindy has worked both with development and delivery of training. She currently works as an Independent Sales Director and New Consultant Trainer and Coach for The Pampered Chef, Ltd., overseeing a team of phenomenal entrepreneurs.Her other passions include ballroom dancing (which often involves teaching, too!), gardening, and training her paint horse to be a fantastic trail horse.  LinkedIn Profile

Dan Price, DM, PMP, Board Member Emeritus

Dr. Dan Price has been active in the Pikes Peak ASTD chapter for over 15 years. He was chapter president for two years and continues to serve on the board. Dan leads a training and development firm that specializes in project management and leadership. John Mayher, VP Applied Technology

Instructional Technologist / Designer / Developer and Trainer. I've been teaching people how to use their computers for over twenty years in business and military environments. I started in a conventional classroom teaching basic computer skills, office applications and multi-media. My interest in teaching, training and computers drew me to new technologies like Computer or Web Based Training (CBT or WBT) and virtual classrooms. Clara Akins, MBA, CPLP, VP Finance and Administration

Clara Akins has over 12 years experience in instructing and facilitating corporate specific courses to include curriculum development in the corporate environment. Currently she is a Senior Instructor for USAA where she is responsible for training enterprise courses and technical specific courses. She also serves as a mentor to other instructors. Clara has an MBA with an emphasis in Finance and Accounting from Regis University and has her CPLP designation. Chuck Herbst, M.Ed., CPLP, VP Marketing

Chuck Herbst serves as an Instructional Designer for USAA. Chuck has been in the training and development field for 14 years and is responsible for maximizing the effectiveness, efficiency and appeal of instruction and other learning experiences. He earned his Masters in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology from Regis University. He is CPLP certified and completed the Designing Synchronous Learning Certificate Program through ASTD. Debbie Cronk, VP Programs

Debbie Cronk has over 18 years experience in training, facilitating and writing classes for three local financial institutions.She has been an active part of ASTD pikes peak chapter for five years. Currently she is a Training and Development coordinator for a financial institution and plays an active role with her local Toastmaster chapter as Sergeant at Arms and mentor. Joel Lamoreaux presently serves as an Organizational Development Consultant for Deluxe Corp, designing and developing a variety of workplace learning and performance actions aimed at driving transformation. Wendy Leedy, ASTD Chapter Coach

Wendy Leedy is the new chapter coach for the western area! She was previously the Director of Affiliate Services for the Brain Injury Association of America where she supported state chapters and national volunteer committees as well as wrote the newsletter and planned the annual leadership conference. Prior to that, she was a Senior Associate at the American Red Cross. Wendy studied communications at Washburn University and Johnson County Community College in Kansas.
